The 1st Edition of Emirates Forensic Conference & Exhibition Starts Today

Dubai – United Arab Emirates, 2nd of April 2017: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, the 1st edition of Emirates International Forensic Science Conference and Exhibition started today at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre under the theme “Digital Forensic Science”.

His Excellency Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chairman of Dubai Police and Public Security, attended the opening ceremony today accompanied by His Excellency Chancellor Essam Al Humaidan , Dubai Attorney General, His Excellency Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-In-Chief of Dubai Police, His Excellency Taresh Eid Al Mansouri, General Director of Dubai Courts, Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director of The Department of Naturalisation and Residency in Dubai (DNRD) and a number of local and international officials, heads of departments and police stations in Dubai, and more than 2,000 participants coming from 25 countries, including 45 experts from international organizations in forensic science and heads of forensic laboratories.

His Excellency Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim and a number of regional and international officials and heads of delegations toured the exhibition and explored the latest products, technologies and equipment used in forensic evidence, crime scene analysis, digital investigation devices, services, and laboratory equipment. The exhibition registered the participation of more than 80 companies specialized in forensic science and criminology.

During the opening ceremony, Major General. Dr. Ahmad Eid Almansoori, General Director of Forensic Science and Criminology Dept. at Dubai Police and Deputy Chairman of Emirates Forensic, welcomed all the attendees and conveyed his sincere gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council for his patronage of this event, and also H.E. Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim for his continuous support in all different areas.

Major General. Dr. Ahmad Eid Almansoori recalled late Lt General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, may his soul rest in peace, who had put the foundation of this conference and was keen to hold it at the earliest possible opportunity, as he knew the great benefit it will have on all participants coming from the region and the world.

In his speech during the opening ceremony, Major General. Dr. Ahmad Eid Almansoori stressed on the importance of preparedness for the future, with its surprises and requirements, the need to anticipate the future and the full readiness to deal with intelligent crime using advanced and complex tools. He has also stressed on the importance of training the cadres specialized in police sciences and crime sciences, in order to achieve future security and stability.

Major General. Dr. Ahmad Eid Almansoori added: “In line with the UAE vision and the Dubai Future Accelerators initiative, Dubai Police are keen to host specialized scientific events in forensic science in general and criminology in particular, such as our conference today that brings together experts from all over the world to discuss the challenges in this field, to learn from the experiences of one another, and to provide support on the local and international level.”

In conclusion, Major General. Dr. Ahmad Eid Almansoori thanked all those who contributed to conference and the parallel exhibition and all the participants from the experts and students. He has also thanked INDEX Confereces & Exhibitions for organizing this prestigious event and specifically Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Executive Chairman of Emirates Forensic Conference & Exhibtiion and the Chairman of INDEX Holding.

From his side, Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Executive Chairman of Emirates International Forensic Science Conference and Exhibition and Chairman of INDEX Holding extended his gratitude for H.E. Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chairman of Dubai Police and Public Security for inaugurating the conference on behalf of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council.

Dr. Al Madani also extended his gratitude for H.E. Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, commander in chief of Dubai Police and the Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the Conference for his support and efforts in making this conference a great success.”

Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani also said: “the Emirates International Forensic Science Conference and Exhibition is one of the very prestigious and specialized events hosted in the UAE and we are expecting a huge turnout and interaction from the participants. The event will also be an excellent opportunity for them to improve and update their forensic science skills.”
